Some of you commenters are arrogant and don't realize how little you know.
It's helpful for a software developer to tell as much as possible about their program, even that it won't run on win95 or Win98. People writing code and in the US and other countries still use those OS's for different reasons.
Older OS's are more secure, don't leave the same digital footprint (metadata), aren't a target of virii and hackers and they don't have all the 'back doors' the current OS's do. Many hosting servers use *NIX OS's not Windows OS's.
There are different CLASSES of USERS. Some are high end Expert users that developed the foundations for what you do TODAY. They still support legacy (older) hardware and software. Their code may live on an older PC for upgrade purposes.
Masters of older Operating Sytems (and current ones) are often called upon to MIGRATE FORWARD DATA from older machines. That means get the data off an older system and move it to a new machine. Some of that data requires the original program, for it to be viewed and exported.
You never find the most knowledgeable people here mocking others' comments.
We have more data on the Civil War than we do from the War in Vietnam. Why? During the Civil War they wrote on PAPER which is archival and can be read.
During the Vietnam War, data was on tapes that needed a huge room sized dinosaur computer. And where are they now?
Why don't you tell me how they migrate that data forward without a running dinosaur?
The people who can actually run a very old computer, who also come to this site, have FORGOTTEN MORE than you clueless, laughing commenters will ever know.

A winger of great technique, Athirson is considered a worthy successor to other great Flamengo players in the position before him - Paulo Henrique, Junior and Leonardo. Since the age of 15 he has played for the national U-17 and U-20 teams, and has won several titles. By nature, he is attacking player and enjoys being on the offensive. But has Athirson has been used several times as a midfielder, following in the footsteps of predecessors Junior and Leonardo, both wingers who also switched positions. He began his career in Flamengo’s youth divisions. 1998 saw him away on loan to Santos – but only temporarily, as the club from Rio has no plans of trading him any day soon.

A regular in Brazil's 1998 World Cup side and the great Palmeiras side of the early 1990s. Made his debut for Brazil in 1991. Flag of Brazil

Background
Following three centuries under the rule of Portugal, Brazil became an independent nation in 1822. By far the largest and most populous country in South America, Brazil overcame more than half a century of military intervention in the governance of the country when in 1985 the military regime peacefully ceded power to civilian rulers. Brazil continues to pursue industrial and agricultural growth and development of its interior. Exploiting vast natural resources and a large labor pool, it is today South America's leading economic power and a regional leader. Highly unequal income distribution remains a pressing problem.

Marcio Amoroso is Brazilian by birth, but he had his first success on the football pitch in the Far East. After playing in the Guarani youth teams, the Brazilian forward flew to Japan, aged eighteen, to play for Verdy Kawasaki. He returned to his homeland in 1994 and soon become one of the rising stars in Brazilian football scoring 19 goals in 26 games in his first stint in Serie A. In 1996 he moved to the titled Flamengo. After just a few months, though, he moved to Italy and joined for Udinese, scoring 42 goals in three seasons and achieving the title of top goalscorer in Serie A last year. He is a central player in the forward line and the man that Parma are hoping will help the team to score yet more goals. Marcio is very fast, agile and capable of creating any of the most incredible opportunities and goals. Was third place top-scorer in 1999 Copa America, after teammates Rivaldo and Ronaldo.

Also, he knows how to take on the responsibility in the commited situations and always find the way for desmarking within the area and receive the pass of a companion. Altough Djalminha usually plays in the left of the midfield, his movility and quality enable him to adapt to other positions in the field. Excellent vision of game, precise passes to his team members, a technique almost perfect and the creativity of a magician are some of Djalma's characteristics. Altough he plays in the midfield, is not strange to saw him dribbling defenders and scoring superb goals dignified of any world class forward. He likes to dribble defenders just to have fun and humiliate the rivals. Left-footed free-kick specialist. However, not everything is 'positive' in Djalminha. Across his career Feitosa Dias has been known for his indiscipline towards rivals, referees, team members and even his coach.

Jardel is the 'golden boot' winner of 1999. He scored 36 goals in 32 matches for FC Porto, which put them this year to the first place of the league again. Jardel has been the most attractive player in Portugal for the last years. However, it should not be surprising if he'll leave Porto this year or next year for a top-club in Spain or England. 'I won everything possible in Portugal and I want to have a new challenge'. Has very few appearances with the Brazilian National team.
